INTERMEDIATE 2- THEY LOOK FRIENDLY BUT THEY ARE FALSE December 2, 2009

Write the following false friends in their corresponding gaps: attend, education, qualifications, course, subjects, lectures, career and notes.

-1- is not manners because
manners is what your outward behaviour proves.

A -2- is not a degree. At uni you graduate
and that’s only “an early shoot”.

A -3- is rarely as short as a year :
It usually lasts three or two.

-4- are not readers or readings. They are
what you hear in your class, er, room.

-5- are not the marks that you get when
your teachers assess -or evaluate- you.

Signatures are not maths or physics or
the other -6- you do.

-7- come in your certificates, not your titles.
If you need a job, show them to you know who.

Finally, you -8-, not assist, a lesson, unless you help the teacher
teaching the lessons too.
